PAINTING STORY
Women at the Well
Women at the Well belongs to The Village Room, where colour, material and scale are allowed to set the mood of a room.
Painted in the studio — waiting to find its home.
The intention
The problem: The challenge was to give Women at the Well a distinct presence without overwhelming the room around it.
Everyday village life — wells, bullock carts, daily ritual — remembered in warm earth tones before it disappears.
How it took shape
The solution: A acrylic at 18 × 24 in gives the composition room to breathe while keeping the subject close and readable.
The final work was developed around the balance of subject, surrounding space and the small details that reward a closer look.
A place it could belong
We imagine Women at the Well becoming the quiet focal point of a room where people notice something new each time they pass it.
Potential settings:
- Living room
- Study
- Entryway
For someone who notices
Women at the Well is for someone drawn to hand-made work, patient detail and a story that continues after the painting leaves the studio.
Ideal owner traits:
- Values original work
- Notices detail
- Wants a personal space
